Mary Kinyanjui graduated at Kenya Medical Training College as a Nurse and became a Registered Nurse in Kenya in 1985. She later studied and graduated in Intensive Care Nursing at College of Health Professions in 1991. She also studied in Registered Midwifery at Mater Misericordiae School of Midwifery.
Work and Experience
Mary started her Nursing career in Kenya working for the Ministry of Health in Leadership positions in different Hospitals in Kenya including, Homa Bay, Mandela, Thika and Gatundu.
She also worked in the private sector at Aga-Khan, Mater and Africa Air Rescue.
She then worked in Botswana and United Kingdom in different leadership positions in Emergency Patient Services.
For the last 10 years, she has worked in U.S.A., as a Resource Critical Care Nurse in Private, Mission and State Hospitals in the States of Indiana and California.
Work and Experience
During her career Mary was part of the team that formulated the Nursing Care Standards that were adopted by Aga-khan Hospital Intensive Care Unit. In the U.S she initiated and with others achieved a legal document that today makes it easy for Families, Doctors and Nurses during end of life issues at Riverside Community Hospital in California.
Kenya University Project (KUP)
Mary joined Kenya University Project in 2014 as a KUP – Property Developer. Jointly, with Bui Thuo, they would kick off the Medical – Hospital
Plan that diverse healthcare professionals are working on today with a goal to achieve one of the best healthcare systems in Kenya.
She has since then worked on different aspects of the project and has held meetings with Diaspora Kenyans in 10 cities in the U.S: Anaheim, Baltimore, Dallas, Sacramento and Oklahoma. She has also held meetings at Botswana. She has visited Kenya 3 times as she worked on the project plan and visited the site in Taita Taveta during one of her visits.
