Dr. Almaz has over 20 years of experience in electrical engineering and computer science with a focus on strategic innovation, operations management, and project management. He has a track record of merging technology and developing efficient product development methods.
She has a PhD in information systems and an MBA in strategic management from the University of Nairobi. She also has a BSc in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as Radio, Television, and Electronics Technician Parts I, II, and III from the Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology.
Dr. Almaz has been involved in various capacities for the African Center of Technology Studies (ACTS), Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC), African Research and Impact Network (ARIN), and African Research Consortium (ARC) in their Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) programs to mainstream ICT use in Science, Technology, and Engineering in universities, as well as projects addressing the Big Four Agenda.
She has also worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Information and Communication, offering my technological skills to Kenya College of Communications Technology (KCCT) as it transitioned from a tertiary college to a Multimedia University. a member of official delegations to Malaysia's Multimedia University, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and the Multimedia Super Corridor, which inspired the construction of Konza Techno-City in Kenya,an equivalent of the Silicon Valley in the United States.
