Education

Prof. Paul Kasili holds a Doctorate in Life Sciences from University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge National Laboratory (UT-ORNL) Graduate School of Genome Science and Technology (GST), Knoxville, TN. He completed two post-doctoral fellowships at ORNL in Nanobiosensors and Biomedical Imaging and at the Brigham and Women’s/Harvard Medical School in method development for Nano-Imaging applications. He received his B.A., majoring in Chemistry, with a minor Biochemistry, at Coe College, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Experience

Dr. Kasili has 22 years experience in academia, biomedical research, biotech industry and STEM higher education. He currently an Associate Professor in the department of Biology and Chemistry at Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) where he teaches Genetics and Biotechnology. He also serves as the Biotechnology Program Director and co-chair of the NEASC 2020 Committees, the Educational Master Plan and the Teaching & Learning Institute.

Industry and Research

Dr. Kasili has worked in the biotech industry as a Sr. Application Scientist for Cambridge Research & Instrumentation (now Perkin Elmer), as a Field Application Scientist for MDS Analytical Technologies (now Molecular Devices) and worked in the nonprofit sector as the Director of Exchange and Training for Seeding Labs. He has also completed three National Science Foundation (NSF) research experiences for teachers at Suffolk University, Wellesley College and MiT.

Dr. Kasili joined (KUP) in 2016 as a property developer and university founder.

Diaspora University

Dr. Kasili as a founder of the University is working on:

  • Biotechnology Department establishment.
  • Courses for and teaching in the Biotechnology department.
