Education

Dr. Philip Mwalali holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) University of Nairobi, a specialty degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology (MMed O&G) University of Nairobi, a Master in Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University USA and a certificate in Emergency Services, USA.

Work and Experience

Dr. Mwalali has over 40 years of combined teaching, clinical and research experience. He served the Kenya Government as a Medical officer and registrar in Obstetrics and Gynecology before joining the University of Nairobi Faculty as a lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology Kenyatta National Hospital, Kenya.

In 1988 he joined the UN systems as Technical advisor in Reproductive health program management, training of health professionals and research. During his tour of service with the UNDP, UNFPA and WHO he provided Technical and program support services to several countries in Africa including Botswana, Zambia, Lesotho, South Africa, Swaziland, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia, the Gambia and Mozambique. Upon return to Kenya he served as the first Monitoring and Evaluation director at the National AIDS Control Council, Kenya.

He is currently the Managing Director, The Chariot Group LLC, a USA based private firm that focuses on Guidance, entrepreneurship and trade. He is also a Co-founder and Executive Director African Diaspora Coalition of North Carolina (www.africandiasporacoalition.org) and Co-founder of the African Economic Foundation, Kenya (www.africaeconomicfoundation.net).

Kenya University Project (KUP)

Dr. Mwalali joined KUP as a KUP – Property Developer in 2016. He thereafter became part of the University Founder and Medical Hospital founder. He became the founding Medical Director of the progressing Medical Hospital Plan started 2015.

Diaspora University and Medical Hospital Plan

Dr. Mwalali continues to work on the development plans of the University and Medical hospital as follows:

  • University Healthcare Courses as fore runner to setting up Medical school.
  • Preparations to teach classes at the University – Health Science courses.
  • Medical Hospital Patient Management Plan in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Doctors’ Plan in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology care protocols in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Dialysis Clinics System.
  • Resource Development Agency (RDA) plan for developing Kenyan Entrepreneurs.
